When the root is deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.

In times of adversity and change, we really discover who we are and what we’re made of, says Howard Schultz and he is so right. Very often, it is not adversity itself, but how we react to adversity that gives direction to our life and creates our life’s story, so how we shape ourselves internally is very important. Tough times comes to all of us and just as they have the power to break us, they also have the power to make us, provided we let it— the choice is ours.
This is a grand old tree that we spotted during one of our game drives with Schotia Safaris, somewhere near Port Elizabeth in South Africa. Though it is typical of the vegetation in that area, I have no idea about its’ name. If anybody helps me identify this tree, I’d be very grateful.

Oh, yes, I so agree, Esha!
Adversities teach us a lot about Life and about ourselves and more often than not, we end up surprising ourselves! And, how we transform in the end!

Esha, I am not seeing the picture. I have no idea why (I use Firefox as my browser). I hope it is just an issue at my end.

Wonderfully portrayed. We never know what we’re capable of unless we’re forced in a situation that needs tremendous amount of strength. We end up surprising ourselves with the courage we can muster if that’s the only thing we need to keep going.
