This is a familiar sight for anyone who is flying out from the Bengaluru International Airport. These tall palms usually never fail to catch one’s attention at the approach of the Terminal 1 building. I’ve always thought that they seem to bear a silent testimony to the travelers who set foot in this burgeoning city every day, from all across the globe. They must be witness to myriad moods— of happy homecomings and silent goodbyes, of tears and smiles, and every conceivable emotion there is. I guess there are a few like me, who would find their beauty striking, standing proudly as they do, against the ever-changing Bangalore sky!

Whatever it is, one thing is for sure….every time I pass by, these trees seem to whisper that the countdown to an exciting trip is just minutes away! It has been a while since the last one…wonder where and when the next will be!

Palm trees to me mean “vacation” – I always smile when I see one.

Thank you so much, Alana! Yes, you know I had the same reaction to a palm until we moved to this city and now they seem to be everywhere but no holiday in sight! Sigh!!

I couldn’t agree more. These trees at the airport are a part of Bangalore as much as you and I are. Lovely one – so common yet so beautiful.

True, Parul. They truly are! Glad you too enjoy the sight of them as much. 🙂

Wonderful thoughts to go with the palm trees. While I have not been to many airports or know about the roads leading to them, but the landscaping enroute to the Bangalore Airport is the most soothing. It almost eases out the nervousness and tension of dropping someone close at the airport or to bid goodbye to the fine weather of this city for a couple of days and even months.

It’s the kind of place, soulful, where I find myself. I love straggling around those routes and under its shade. It brings the best in me. I think Nariman Point has a similar bearing. The reflections that you made add sheen to the image.

Thank you so much, Vishal for sharing your thoughts on this image. Yes, Nariman Point always comes to mind, when seeing these. 🙂
