Three Random Skyshots

Today for #SkywatchFriday, I bring you three different skies portraying three varying moods of Nature. On a beautiful sunny day, Nature can be so mellow and calm, and yet, so portent with foreboding in the face of a storm. Which of the three appeals to you? I’d love to know your reasons too.The first is a sky shot from one of my recent trips to a beautiful town called Wellington located in the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu. The backdrop of the sky against the silhouette of the giant-leafed perennial created a bit of a drama as the setting sun went down, giving me a perfect photo-op. I was happy with the frame. What do you think?

Once we were back to Ooty the next day, I captured another random shot of the sky from the hotel’s landing area, just in time before twilight. The tree got truncated in the shot because I was trying to get as much of the sky as I could. Not a great shot, but felt good that I was able to freeze the moment in the snapshot as the colours of the sky kept changing every couple of minutes. This is how it looked then. Soothing blue…balmy skies!

The last image I’m sharing with you today is that of the city skyline in between torrential downpours of last week—a bank of dark, thunderous, ominous clouds!

Beautiful sky shots! The first one is wonderful. Reminds me a little of some of my desert skies.

I like the first picture – it is a silhouette capture I would never be able to get where I live in temperate climes. And those colors!
