#SkywatchFriday – 47

Even after all this time, the Sun never says to the EarthYou owe me. Look what happens with a love like thatIt lights up the sky!

Today, I bring you these shots from a few weeks back, when we still had the occasional bursts of red and orange streaks spread all across, at dawn and dusk. That was much before the sky decided to wrap itself in a bleary grey cloak, with the onset of Monsoon, bringing the much-needed showers and a dip in the soaring temperatures. Sad to say, that Bangalore skies were never this dull, as they are right now. When I’m at home, I love sky watching in the wee hours of the morning and feel lucky if I catch a sunset, while wrapping up the chores, in the evening. These days, the luminescence of the flaming sky is being sorely missed. Sharing some shots that bring back fond memories for me. Hope you like them.

So, how have you been and how was your sky this week? If you love taking sky shots, do share them by clicking the link below. You may also visit the link to see the beautiful sky photos people post from all over the world.

I’m sure you had a busy week. But, tell me, when you had some time to spare, did you spend it staring into your gadgets, or did you raise your head, to look out of that window? Did you realise how time flies and how days turn into nights and the weeks roll into months? We don’t often realise that spending mindful moments amidst nature every now and then can be a huge stress-buster. Do take some moments to stop…pause…watch…and see how much beauty there is for us, without our asking. When you do, I hope you enjoy them. Life, they say, happens in these everyday moments, while we’re busy chasing other things.

Thank you, Peter. Experiencing mindfulness takes time, but it is totally worth the effort once you do so.

I am afraid it was gadgets with me yesterday, but outside a decent amount otherwise. I’ll leave staring out the window to the cat, lol. Gorgeous shots.

Thank you for the appreciation. Good to hear you’ve been outside. That’s even better, actually. Skywatching is also something you might like to try out someday for yourself too.

Many of us need that scolding about our devices. Actually, I almost missed a spectacular sunset last night because I was doing just that. Lovely pictures!

Oh, didn’t really mean that as a scolding. Sorry if I came across that way. Your sky shots are lovely too.
