“The best things in life aren’t things.”
—Art Buchwald
With the passage of time, the one thing that I’ve realised about happiness is that it is within us all the time even when we are looking outwards to make ourselves happy. The basic premise that runs through our lives is this— the more we chase happiness, the more it becomes elusive. We live so much of our lives in the obscure, unacknowledged moments, waiting for something extraordinary and special to happen, that will make us happy—one, that probably never comes, leaving us disillusioned throughout our lives. So much of our struggles stem from this notion that we have to work hard at being happy. And, yet, we fail to recognise that happiness is within us. The everyday moments bring enough reason to fill us with gratitude and happiness follows as a by-product. The most obscure moments of our lives have a beauty and a charm all of their own, that completely defies all descriptions and labels.
Capturing sky pictures brings me that kind of bliss, that calms the mind and fills me with joy. Transitory, fickle moments. Short-lived yet real. Every sky tells a story. This is what my sky tells me—stories captured from my living room window at different times of the day.
Sharing two sky shots from the recent weeks from my part of the world. What do you think of them?

Beautiful skies…even though temporary and ever-changing, there is something mesmerizing about the sky. It tells a story, doesn’t it?
Esha M Dutta
Thank you Sanch. Yes, it can sometimes get challenging to capture a changing sky, but, then, that’s why it is so much fun. The sky does have a story to tell every single time I look at it. I think a lot of our own thoughts are reflected back at us from up there.
Soumya
Look at those gorgeous colors! <3

I kept nodding my head as read through this post because all of it is something that I definitely agree! We should find happiness in little things.
I love taking pictures of the sky and I do that all the time from my office windows or the terrace of my PG Accommodation.

Thanks a lot, Reema. I’m so glad we think alike with regard to happiness coming from small things. I’d be really curious to see your sky shots sometime, Reema. Why don’t you join #Skywatch and share your photos too? That’d be lovely. 🙂

Sometimes other people’s happy facebook posts become the barometer for our own happiness, sad really.
Enjoyed the post!

I personally think the second image is the most beautiful one. All think that just because you stay in a city, you cannot experience sunset or your time does not slow down during the dusk. Well that’s not exactly true. For somereason, since childhood, I always felt calm during the dusk. There is some beauty of calmness whether it is dusk or dawn within the city.
Esha M Dutta
Thank you, Aishwarya. So nice to know that you enjoy the dusk hour too, as much as I do. I feel calm and at peace while watching dawn and dusk. Nothing like nature to soothe our frayed nerves. Thanks for visiting and sharing your thoughts here.

Your photos are dreamy and beautiful and wonderful. I love taking pictures of the sky, and all sorts of other things. Photography, both mine, and looking at the images of other people really makes me happy.

Thanks for those generous compliments, Alan. So glad to know you too love capturing sky shots like I do. Nothing quite as magical, you’d agree, I suppose.
