Frozen in Time
Some things will never change. These pretty carvings certainly fall into that category. We spotted them at the entrance to the breathtakingly beautiful 16th-century palace.

Thank you, Raj. Glad you’re a fan of sculptures too!
Beautiful carvings. I love birds and have some bird art in my house., which is definitely not a palace.
Thank you, Alana. So glad you love birds and yes, would love to see the picture of the bird art in your house, if you’d like to share it someday! Always a great fan of your flower pics, btw. 🙂
Aww…such cute little birdies! 🙂 Did you buy any as a memento?

That statue is really soothing
No, didn’t buy any. But, I loved the pretty sculptures that we found here and there during our two-weeks long travels. Wish I could capture more such!
The detailing on the birds is so good! Japan has been on my wish list for a while now. Need to go there soon.
It is the detailing that caught my eye, Soumya. And yes, Japan will mesmerize you. You’ll fall in love with the breathtaking beauty of the country. And there’s so much more to it.

They resemble sparrows……. love the photo Esha.
Thank you. Glad you like them, Monika.
I think they are meant to portray serenity. Sadly, reminds me of the fact that these days, I almost never see sparrows around.
True, Doc. The sparrows were such a common sight up until a decade or two back.
The detailing on the birds is gorgeous.
That’s what caught my eye, Tulika. Glad to see you here. 🙂
Thank you for hosting, the birds reflect an artists talent.
Glad to see you here, Karren. There is an abundance of such display of artistic talent in Japan!
That’s a beautiful photograph, Esha! I hope I can take part on Wordless Wednesday this time 🙂
Thank you, Shalini. Yay! Would love to see you join in, this week. 🙂
Aww! they are quite cute, nice carvings 🙂
Have an artistictastic week 🙂
Thank you, Steve. Glad to see you stop by. 🙂
Awww what lovely birds. Saw some of these in Japan, where they were invariably made to wear crochet hats in winter 🙂
Haha…I’m sure they looked cute with those crochet hats on. 🙂
