Birds of a Feather | #wordlessWednesday

Should one believe in the safety in numbers and be content in surviving inconspicuously? Or is it better to risk it all, steer clear of the herd, and move on despite the dangers ahead?

Risk being called a failure or risk living in fear of one’s potential? Which, of the two would you go with?

Great pic Esha! Equal parts scary {walking under it with an increased risk of getting bird poo on you} and fascinating! 🙂

Thank you, Sanch. Ah, yes, I know what you mean! Not a great idea walking under it, for sure. And, that situation you mentioned HAS happened with me in the past!:D 😀

Birds are so precious, I love that photo.

      Thank you very much.

Life is all about taking risks! Otherwise, what’s the joy of living a mundane life. Although, I do worry about these birds sitting on the wires. Poor things they probably don’t even know that their life is at risk.

    • Esha MD

Well said, Vinodini. We all take risks, don’t we? So are these birds taking it today! They are blissfully unaware of what is awaiting them! A human can at least anticipate the course of things to come. What can birds do?

Well, they say there is safety in numbers. 🙂 Those birds obviously agree! As for me, I’ve never been one to follow the crowd. We should celebrate our uniqueness and do what feels right for us, yes? Thank you for hosting this party. Have a great rest of the week!

    • Esha MD

I love what you said, Debbie. We should indeed celebrate our uniqueness, but how many are willing to follow that, Debbie? My 14 yo wouldn’t and every day we have a battle. I think I learnt my lesson when I crossed 40 and knew that I was going to do my thing no matter what anybody said. Thank you for your lovely wishes. Had a great week. Hope you had one too!

Hehe…good one, Steve! Thank you for stopping by the blog and sharing your lovely thoughts. I hope you had an awesome weekend as well. 🙂

I tend to fly on my own, where I will.

Though I might feel differently if I were a bird….

That’s good, Deb. That way, you know where you are headed, irrespective of whether you see failure or success at the end of it. I guess that’s probably the right thing to do.

Those are too many pigeons in the photo. What attracts me in it is the lines going out in different directions, some overlapping, some crossing and that white ball (sun) showing off it roundness among the straight lines. Some geometry is at play here.
We all know the right answer, the answer which will come from our heart. But then how do we live? We continue to live in the safety of numbers and thus lead a life inconspicuous.

    • Esha MD

Thank you, Anamika! I love tram wires and the way they criss-cross at junctions. In Kolkata, it is everywhere especially in the older parts of the city. I guess we are all guilty as charged. Living in fear sometimes and sometimes braving it all and risking everything we have to live fearlessly. Both states are true isn’t it?

Love the bird picture – you see a lot of that where I live especially in the fall. By the way, I can’t link up – I keep getting a verify thing which may be because I recently got a new computer. I have to create an account although I have linked time and again. So I guess I won’t be joining this week, alas.

    • Esha MD

Thank you, Alana. Btw, I’ve added your post to the linky list! I guess you just need to verify once and then, it should work fine for the rest of the linkups.

    Risk neither.
Just do what the heart says. And have faith in one’s capability.

    Stunning shot indeed.
    Love and light Esha♥️

    • Esha MD

Thank you, my dear Natasha! Yes, going with the heart sometimes means risking it and going with our inner conviction, right? So glad you liked this picture. Will surely convey to the photographer.:)

I feel that if we don’t take a risk for the fear of being called a failure, we would definitely miss out on life.

    • Esha MD

You bet, Raji! We would miss out on so many wonderful experiences in life if we never risked it at all, right?

It’s a nice sight to see the pigeons relaxing on the power lines, isn’t it?
About taking risks – I believe it’s better to risk it than live with the fear of failure, but unfortunately, I am currently living in the fear of the risk, failure, and the strength to get a move on. Talk about a hypocrite, huh!
I linked up this time, first in line. 🙂

    • Esha MD

Thanks, Vini. So glad to see you here first on our list this week. 🙂

Yes, I can relate to your state of mind. We are all there sometime or the other, you know and that dilemma of risk vs fear always plays havoc internally but still we brave it and so will you, eventually! I’d love to hear your story when you’ve braved it all and will share tips and tricks that worked for you in your path to success!
