A photo and a memory—about a wonderful day spent at the Cape Winelands,’ one of the most well-known wineries of South Africa, which indulges visitors to one of the most sought-after wine-tasting sessions where one can sample some of the best wines from the region.
While I’d have loved to savour the local wine, I decided to leave the wine tasting to the better half, savouring in the gorgeous views instead. The gently rolling mountains towered all around us, and as far as the eye could see, there were long stretches of vineyards that went down in neat rows, all along the slopes. The weather was perfect and the warmth of the winter Sun in early April seemed to tell us that we were in the right place at the right time. Another moment, frozen in time— to treasure later.
No wine, and well, no migraine, but heady all the same! How cool was that?!

Gosh how did I even miss this stunning shot, dearest Esha. I wish I could gather wings and be there this very moment. Breathtaking!

What a beautiful one, Esha. Truly a scene to remember for a long time.

Thank you, Parul. Yes, absolutely— some memories are like that! Thanks for visiting. Not been very regular in reading and commenting on the group. Will hop over and read as many as possible this week if plans don’t change any further. Tc. Have a great day.

I can’t believe you left the wine alone….. 😉 I would have gladly sat down with a few samples till the wobble feeling set in.
But I maybe the views were more seductive than the wines ….. They do so beauty lies in the eye of the beholder

So good to see you here, Shalini. You know what…I skipped the wine because they usually give me a migraine that drains away all my energy. I’d much rather prefer nature instead! 🙂

More than the picture, I enjoyed reading your words, Esha!
Esha M Dutta
Thank you so much, Shilpa. Those were the only words I could manage to post along with the picture. I have been out of the blogging groove for so long now! Thanks to #WordlessWednesday my blog is still alive or it was almost nearing a silent death with total neglect over the past 3 months!

The South African climate is proving to give France, South America, and Australian wineries a run for their money.
You are lucky to be able to live close enough to imbibe in these treasures!
Thanks for sharing!

I was visiting SA actually, seeing it with the eyes of a tourist. Where I live turns out to be quite the opposite of what you see in the picture. But, then, I’m not complaining as long as I get to travel to beautiful places, once in a while. 🙂 Their wine-making business is definitely going on a high!

Oh I see green grass nothing or very little green grass at my place.
Coffee is on
Esha M Dutta
I hear you, Dora! That’s like the place where I live in when I’m not travelling to beautiful faraway lands. So glad to see you stopping by, and sharing your thoughts. 🙂

What a beautiful place to look out and sip wine! Lovely shot.
Esha M Dutta
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, Deb. Yes, a lovely place to catch our breath and enjoy the beauty of Nature. The wine was the icing on the cake. 🙂
Suzy
I don’t drink but I love visiting wineries. They are always very scenic places.
Esha M Dutta
Oh yes, they are, Suzy! Scenic, most certainly, I agree. The whole process of winemaking is so enthralling too, isn’t it?
Sonia Chatterjee
The place looks gorgeous. I am not very fond of wines but I could soak up the beauty of the surroundings sipping on my lemon soda instead. Just linked up with my picture for the week,
Esha M Dutta
You know what, Sonia— you don’t even need a drink because the ambience of this haven of peace will ensure you soak up the beauty and enjoy the moments. So worth the quiet time spent in the lap of Nature. So glad to see you link up, this week, Sonia. Thank you. 🙂

What a beautiful picture…love the visual. Makes you want to have a cup of warm tea (if not wine) sitting on that chair and drink in the beauty around.

I don’t think that I have ever had South African wine. I might have to try a glass. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Esha M Dutta
Oh, you must try them, Patrick. Their sulphite-free wine is absolutely fantastic for people like me who cannot have wine without getting a headache. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, Patrick. A great week ahead to you too. 🙂

I’ve just recently started to get into drinking South African wine. Living near Finger Lakes wine country, it’s interesting to contrast how soil and climate make a difference in how wines taste. That’s beautiful country; I’d love to visit one day.
Esha M Dutta
Oh, that’s nice. What do you think of their wine? I’ve been hearing about South African wine ever since my Mauritius days that was almost 20 years, so naturally, I was very curious to try them. Sadly, my migraine got in the way and I could only savour their Sulphite-free wine that promised great taste but no headache. Btw, much thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, Alana.
