It’s been a while we’ve gone for a holiday. Right now, it feels even a short break would do. Okay, even a weekend getaway is fine. But, I know I’m not going anywhere. So, as I go over my fabulous holiday pictures from last April, I thought, I might share one today here. This particular one is a lovely throwback to that beautiful evening at the De Denne Guest House at Oudtshoorn, with spectacular views of the Swartberg mountain range in the distance (see pic below).
A long and tiring drive had brought us to this place, located right in the middle of nowhere. After tea, we took off for a short stroll to explore the place, while the beautiful evening was spreading its’ magic all around. The slight nip in the air heightened the surreal beauty of the place. Oh, that feeling of soft green grass as the husband and I walked barefoot while the teen walked upto the Ostrich farm eager to see the chicks feeding from a largish bowl. In the meantime, the sun was beginning to set somewhere in the west. There were no other souls in sight except us and we felt at home with Mother Nature, as we stopped by the cottage to get a few quick captures of the breathtaking sight before us.
It was bliss to just be and let the moments pass by, savouring the unhurried pace of that evening. Come to think if it—Isn’t that all that we need, to live mindfully?
