Standing Alone – #ThursdayTreeLove 7

Travels bring along memories, don’t they? Last month, when I got back from a wonderful road trip, I carried plenty of moments captured on my cell phone and my handy Sony camera. It was only during the last weekend that I got the time and the opportunity to have a look at them. I thought of sharing this for today’s #TreeLove post because it has something special for me.

This image reminds me of that evening when I stood on the deck of the hotel, where we had just arrived a few hours before. For some strange reason, this tree seemed to grab my attention. There was something very striking in the way it stood, tall and upright in spite of being a lone tree, away from the rest of its kind, as if it was ready for any fate, that came its’ way.

Have you ever wondered how, some people appear to be so complete in themselves, even when they seem to be walking alone? This tree seemed to me a bit like that.

Below, I could see the rolling hills, over which was spread out the beautiful town of Ooty, our destination for the next three days. After a while, I decided to step out for a walk. As I went up to the tree, the sky turned from a pale yellow to a sombre pink, while daylight gently gave way to dusk.

Something very serene and peaceful swept over me as I spent those quiet minutes standing beside the lone tree. Trees have souls, don’t they? I can tell you, they do.

Trees do have souls, as do other plants. For some reason, I transported myself right into this picture. What a fortunate tree, having this view its entire life.

Glad you also believe that way, Alana. Yes, do agree that tree will have this wonderful view all its life.

Thank you Eli and happy to know you too find peace and quiet in the midst of Nature! It fill us up in a way that few things in life do. Don’t you agree?

Thank you Corinne. It takes so little to fall in love with a beautiful tree but how amazingly it fills up our hearts and souls with gratitude, even when we revisit them in our memories!

You’re lucky to be able to enjoy solitary moments and great views of the valley. I Love all forms of nature including 🌲. I’m tied up and occupied, else would have participated for Thursday tree love. 😃

I’ve always enjoyed solitude since my earliest recollection of spending time amidst nature. Now, the more I see life, the more I realise what a gift nature is to us. Would be great if you could find some time to join in for #thursdaytreelove, but I totally understand there are commitments that need to be adhered to, as is the case with me too quite often. I’m looking forward to your skywatch posts these days. 🙂

I guess we have something in common then! I try to take some time out on Sunday morning for nature and it involves effort in terms of getting up really early when most people prefer to get up late than the usual. I haven’t been able to create anything of late so missing the action. whatever time I’m able to manage I try to run through fellow bloggers post. Will try to…
Maybe I can get to see some beautiful sky of Bangalore too this month 🙂

Trees perhaps do have souls… Lone trees have that profound soothing vibes too… I know a few people in my life who are complete in themselves and do walk alone to chart their own paths… Inspiring and encouraging…

Thanks, Pratikshya. So glad you think so too. It is amazing to know such people, isn’t it? So much to learn from them, am sure.

Beautiful tree and thoughts that resonated so well with it. I have also noticed how some people and trees stay where they are – as if absorbing all in.
Thank you so much for joining Esha! <3

Thanks, Parul. What you say could also mean that certain people are resistant to changing and moving with time which might hold them back. Perhaps the flip side to being in one place always.

We discussed this post yesterday so I could not resist myself from nor visiting it 🙂 Lone trees to me is also about enjoying solitude like you have said. The fading daylight in the backdrop makes the photo beautiful.
