‘Lungs of the World.’

(A random pic shot at the Mysore Zoo, that made me wonder – “Are we taking heed of what is been said? Are we thinking before destroying our trees and our forests? Are we even sparing a thought for the generations we are leaving behind?”

You are right in wondering about the destruction we are doing right now. Love the picture.

Absolutely, Amrita, that is the question that bothers many of us! Thanks for the appreciation.

We take trees so much for granted, don’t we? As I enjoy the beauty and shade of the old trees planted where we presently stay, I’m always grateful.

That we do, Corinne. Watching Bangalore losing its green cover over the years, I feel very sad to see the city losing its natural beauty that was so much a part of the lives of the people once.

It seems we humans are wired for creating conveniences for ourselves, everything else has no value which explains apathy towards our environment.

So true, Arv! Our selfish ways are all too often getting in the way even though we are so vocal about protecting our environment. I see it all around us every day in so many big and small ways…such apathy everywhere.

The trouble is…even though we want to clean our house, but no one wants to do the dirty work. That’s a human trait! In a way, it also includes us!

        • Esha M Dutta

Absolutely true! We’re all to be blamed for this.

We should all share this post and make it go viral/ this notice is soooooo important . Not many people visit zoos so we should take this notice out of the zoo and make people notice it !

Thank you so much, Sunita. You are right…we need to make so much noise about these damages we are doing to our trees and our forests so people realise the mistakes. You’re right…not many people visiting zoos would be likely to notice the message this pic conveys.
